Resources for Children

A child’s first bicycle – mobile on wheels. Introducing a child to the fun and freedom can be exciting for children and at the same time daunting for parents. Along with teaching them about bicycles – how to ride them, and how to maintain them, should come how to ride safely. Legally they are considered vehicles and subject to the same traffic rules and regulations as cars. Along with learning the pleasures of riding should come an understanding of the dangers, and the importance of learning to share the road with caution.

But, bike education should involve more than just the rules. It is also important to highlight the intrinsic benefits of bicycling – exercise, adventure, independence, and confidence.
